A Message from the Superintendent

2008-2009

WELCOME BACK

I would like to welcome back everyone to the 2008/2009 school year, which will be one of the best yet!

Many thanks to our dedicated staff and our Board of Education for all of their hard work and support of our school district.

I’m especially proud and happy to report that we enter the 2008/2009 school year with a designation from the State Department of Education that the Florham Park Public Schools are a “high performing school district”. We received this designation as a result of undergoing the Quality School Accountability Continuum Assessment this past year. We did very well and were recognized by the State Department of Education.

This past summer was especially busy and I am very happy to report to you that Briarwood School has been refurbished with new painting, lighting and new ceilings in the hallways. The dead tree that obstructed the parking lot at Brooklake School has been cleared. At Ridgedale Middle School the auditorium has been repaired, refurbished and painted and what I believe to be the crowning achievement this summer is the complete restoration of the cupola at Ridgedale Middle School including the repair of the clock.

We are entering the 2008/2009 school year with a new math curriculum and a new math textbook series to support it. Our new math textbook series will, for the first time, standardize the math textbooks we use from Kindergarten to 8th grade and establish a new continuity of instruction.

This will be a very exciting year for everyone because there are so many positive things happening in our schools. I’m really looking forward to working with each and every one of you. Have A Great Year!

Sincerely,

William Ronzitti, Ph.D.

Superintendent of Schools
